One of Robert Plant’s great obsessions, besides his music, has been wood; almost every type, shape and variety of wood. He loves the look and feel, yes, and he says “the smell of wood!” I’m excited with “the smell of African hard wood treated with oil.” Plant believes this love of wood goes back to his childhood and the times he spent with his uncle who was a carpenter. His home on the Welsh border is almost a museum of wood in dozens of shapes and forms, including beds, doors and tables, old and new, which he’s collected on visits here and elsewhere. ||Continue reading||
